TNA

According to PWInsider, Scott D’Amore, former Team Canada coach, will be filling the role as Knockout Agent after Savio Vega was fired last week. D’Amore will be filling the position starting at Hard Justice and continuing through the next set of Impact tapings.

Speaking of Vega, with him and Dutch Mantel out of the way, it would appear the BG James and Jim Cornette might be the next two in line to go.

TNA has changed their taping schedule again. They will now film all four episodes over the course of two weeks.

Maryse will undergo surgery to repair a dislocated knee cap. She injured the knee cap last winter, but was able to avoid surgery until now.

Chris Masters made his return to RAW this Monday night in the beat the clock challenge against MVP. The two battled to a double count out, but a rivalry might have just started.

The main event at SummerSlam will be John Cena vs Randy Orton for the thousandth time.

ROH

Nigel McGuinness was injured Friday night during a match with Jerry Lynn. He was recieving a Cradle Piledriver, but slipped out of the hold. There is no heat on Lynn for the miscue.

Former WWE star Elijah Burke has signed with TNA.

WrestlingInc has a very interesting article up by Tim Brown on how some of the creative team members will be affected with Jeff Jarrett’s absence. One interesting addition to the article is former TNA and current ECW champion Christian.

TNA Impact’s 200th episode is tonight on Spike TV. My preview will be up later today.

In the latest TNA web match, Lethal Consequences takes on The Motor City Machine Guns. This was another good match for both teams.

Edge Injury

Posted in News, Wrestler Spotlight with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on July 5, 2009 by biggman621

WWE superstar Edge was injured at a house show a couple nights ago. The injury came in a match with Jeff Hardy when he tried to float over Hardy after being whipped into the corner. At first, the injury was only thought to be a twisted ankle or possibly a broken ankle, making Edge only miss a couple of weeks at the most. Unfortunately, after some additional tests, it was discovered that Edge suffered a torn Achilles Tendon and will be likely out until early 2010.

This is upsetting news since He and Chris Jericho had appeared to be slated to lose the tag titles in another team (my guess is Legacy at Summerslam or Night of Champions) . So, that plan will have to be reworked. Edge has proven himself to be a valuable asset to not only Smackdown, but to the entire WWE itself. I would like to wish him the best of luck in his recovery, which I hope is a quick one.

Samoa Joe Update

At a TNA house show earlier this week, Samoa Joe tore his tricep and broke a couple of fingers. In an update on his injury, he posted on his twitter account that he will be at Slammiversary come “hell or high water.” This could be looked at one of two ways: 1) he needs to really reconsider his stance since he is only going to hurt himself more, or 2) maybe he won’t need a lot of time off to repair both injuries, especially since we don’t know how bad the tear is.

Either way, Joe will be at Slammiversary.

TNA News

As reported earlier, a superstar in TNA is going to leave by the end of this year. It appears that former TNA World Heavyweight champ Sting will be leaving the company, and in all likely hood, retire from wrestling.

In other TNA news, Samoa Joe suffered a torn tricep and a few broken fingers at a show in Boise. This could put Joe’s shot at being in Slammiversary in serious jeopardy. More to follow….

This came in from wrestlinginc:

Ring Of Honor‘s World Heavyweight Champion Nigel McGuinness injured his arm at a show in Elizabeth, PA. The arm injury was serious enough that he might need surgery, but now I am getting something interesting from Pro Wrestling Insider.

In the ROH anniversary show, McGuinness is expected to wrestle KENTA. Whether this will change or not, still remains to be seen. However, it appears that he will try to work through his injury.
