TNA Impact Review 7/2/09

The Main Event Mafia come out to start the show. Kurt Angle says that Mick Foley can’t run or hide, so he needs to face him in the ring. Foley tries to explain himself, but Angle cuts him off. Kurt Angle asks why Foley went against his word? Angle says he is the most dominant man in TNA and says that its time to pay the price. Foley says to leave him alone, but Angle says he can’t do that. Foley sends Rocco and Sal to protect him, but Scott Steiner takes care of them quickly. Foley asks out of respect for him to leave enough for him to be able to recover for Victory Road. Angle gives him a choice as to who will beat him down tonight. Foley picks and then throws a right hand at Angle. The MEM continues to beat down Foley until Double J comes out and scares them off.  Jarrett then hits Foley with the guitar in a shocking turn of events.

Jeremy Borash is with Jeff Jarrett and he says that there is no chance that they can resolve their differences.

Mike Tenay is with Kevin Nash and they talk about him and Scott Hall’s jump to WCW, and from there it changed from fun to all about the money and the business.

Abyss is shown backstage looking for Dr. Stevie. He says that he would never hurt Lauren, but he is sick. Lauren pleads with him to know avail and she is visible shaken.

Cody Deaner w/ ODB vs The Amazing Red

Red starts off landing a few kicks and then puts in an arm lock.  Deaner reverses the arm lock, only to be hit with a few arm drags and a huracanrana. Red hits a corkscrew plancha onto Deaner and then throws him into the ring. Red uses a role up for a two count and  then lands a few more kicks. Deaner knocks Red down and earns a two count. Deaner puts Red in the corner and starts throwing right hands. Deaner hits a scoop slam and a fist drop for a two count. Deaner slams Red’s head into the top turnbuckle, only for Red to counter a whip and hit a kick for two. Red gets caught on the top rope and Dean climbs to the top rope. Deaner goes for a diving head butt, and Red hits the Red Eye for the three count.

New TNA Web Match

Raisha Saeed takes on Sojourner Bolt in the newest TNA web match. This wasn’t the best web match, but it was an ok showing by both wrestlers.

TNA Impact Review 5/28/09

X Division Title Match: Suicide (c) vs Amazing Red

Suicide lands a right hand on Red and Red counters with a few near falls. Suicide counters a near fall with a decapitation clothesline. Suicide hits a rolling fireman’s carry to knock Red out of the ring. Red then is caught in a wheelbarrel and sent into the steel guard rail. Suicide rolls Red back in the ring and earns a near fall from a suplex. Suicide then hits Red with a big dropkick and continues the beat down. Suicide hits a scoop slam and a leg drop. Red then hits a tornado DDT, and a ensiguri for a two count. Red goes for the Code Red, but Suicide counters with a suplex of sorts for a two count. Red goes for the InfraRed, but Suicide pokes the eyes and hits the Suicide Solution for the win. This was a fast paced and fun match up to watch. 4 out of 5 stars.

Sting comes out to the ring with the rest of the Main Event Mafia behind. Sting talks about the changes that he will be bringing to the family. He said that some have forgotten the focus of the MEM and he will guide them to the original goal they had. Sting asks if everyone has stayed the course. He kicks out the women from the MEM because of a  distraction they are. He talks about the Main Event Mafia Security and says they are gone as well. He says if anyone has an issue, they should step forward.

Samoa Joe comes out and says he appreciates that he is trying to bring dignity back, but it won’t matter. Joe has been ordered to take out everyone in the mafia until only Kurt Angle is left and he will be killed.

Beautiful People In Full Force

TNA Knockout Title Match: Angelina Love (c) / Kip James, Madison Rayne, and Velvet Sky vs Sojourner Bolt

Sojo Bolt uses a couple of quick rollups and Love counters with raining punches down in the corner. Love hits a big kick for a two count. Sojo hits a Samoan Drop and the two meet in the ring and Bolt lands a couple right hands. Sojo hits a flapjack, but because of the distraction by Madison Rayne, Love is able to hit the Makeover for the three count. Love grabs a mic and says that this was another outstanding performance. Love asks why Kip is back and fires him again and tells security to take Kip away. Lisa Marie Varon aka Victoria comes out to the ring and takes out Rayne and Sky. She hits love with a couple right hands and a Widow’s Peak. She accepts the challenge.

In addition to the matches, “The Franchise” Shane Douglas, Raven, and Lisa Marie Varon (formerly Victoria) will be making appearances. Team 3D will be awarding Beer Money with the $100,000 prize and trophy, and Sting will be taking over the Main Event Mafia.

Angelina Love defeats Sojo Bolt

Jeff Jarrett and AJ Styles win and qualify for the King of the Mountain Match.

TNA Impact Review 4/23/09

Jeff Jarrett starts off Impact with the TNA title. He is out to present the title to Mick Foley. Foley comes out to the ring and says he knows that its a great moment. He shows everyone the camera guy who got hit by Foley drop kicking the cage. He says the moment was bitter sweet. He said Sting was broken and won’t be in the ring for a while. “We want Sting” chants here as Jarrett gives Foley the title. Double J says he never thought that him and Mick would stand in the ring like this. Jarrett praises Foley and says that at Sacrifice he will face three challengers. If Foley is pinned, he loses the title. If his challengers are pinned, the challengers who are sacrificing something important to them. The one who pins the challenger gets that. Foley asks what happened to one on one. Mick Foley says he thinks Jeff is jealous. Foley announces that since he is in a match at Sacrifice, Jarrett will be in a match tonight. He announces a Cactus Jack Smack Attack, a hardcore match where Foley selects some items that you may not normally see. So it will be Scott Steiner going up against Double J and Mick Foley will be doing color commentary.

Lauren is with the Beautiful People who are celebrating Angelina Love’s win. I think my ears were bleeding during the segment.

Don West is with Team 3D and asks Brother Ray about the Tag Team Division. They say that Beer Money is the future of tag team wrestling. Brother Ray announces the Team 3D tag team tournament. Winners get a $1,000 check and a shot at the titles.

Team 3D Invitational Quarterfinal Match: Beer Money Inc. vs Lethal Consequences

Beer Money looks extremely focused. James Storm and Jay Lethal start out the match with Lethal taking control early. Consequences Creed is tagged in and he eats a right hand as Robert Roode is able to to tag in. Creed jumps over the top rope to take out Beer Money. Creed suplexes Roode into the ring. Blind tag by Storm leads to a few quick tag team moves and a couple close falls. Beer Money hits the double suplex and then does the Beer Money chant. Creed and Storm both go for cross body blocks and both struggle to make tags. Lethal comes in and hits a flurry for a two count. Lethal hits the Lethal Combination on Roode for a close two count. Beer Money hits the DWI for the three count to move on in the tournament. A very entertaining match. 4 out fo 5 stars.

TNA Impact Preview

TNA Impact should be an interesting show tonight. Here are the matches for tonight:

My Predictions:

Scott Steiner defeats Jeff Jarrett with the help of Bobby Lashley

AJ Styles retains the title

Taylor Wilde defeats Sojo and both get destroyed by Awesome Kong

TNA Lockdown Results and Review

I was at TNA Lockdown in Philadelphia so I don’t have the play by play of what happened. The results as well as special moments and interesting news are below.

Dark Match: Eric Young vs Danny Bonaduce

This was a publicity stunt for both organizations. Bonaduce didn’t look terrible, but not that good either. Eric Young won via roll up.

Xscape Match: Suicide (c) vs “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal vs Consequences Creed vs Sheik Abdul Bashir vs Kiyoshi

This was a ton of fun to watch. The action was fast and furious. The match came down to Bashir and Sucide. As Suicide made it to the other side of the cage, Kiyoshi tried to grab him. TNA security pulled Kiyoshi away as Suicide climbed to the top of the cage. Suicide jumped off the cage onto security and Kiyoshi giving him the title and the win.

Queen of the Cage: ODB vs Madison Rayne vs Sojourner Bolt vs Daffney

Nothing truly interesting about this match. There were four wrestlers in the ring and Cody Deaner outside the ring was the most entertaining part of the match. ODB wins by pinning Sojo Bolt.

IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championships Match: The Motor City Machine Guns (c) vs. No Limit vs. LAX

This was an extremely entertaining match. All of the teams looked on top of their game for the show. This match moved at break neck speed and never stopped. The Guns would win the match by a Sliced Bread/ Powerbomb combination (Made in Detroit) on Naito of No Limit for the victory.

Chamber of Blood Match: Matt Morgan vs Abyss

Abyss and Matt Morgan heard everything from “We Want Blood” to “Boring” chants. All in all, it was a typical big man match. Dr. Stevie distracted Abyss long enough for Morgan to slam him on thumbtacks to get the win.

TNA Knockout Title Match: Awesome Kong (c) vs Taylor Wilde vs Angelina Love

This was probably one of the best Knockout matches I can remember. The one moment that will stick out in this match was Awesome Kong doing a front flip off of the top rope. It was absolutely incredible. Angelina Love picked up the victory after pinning Taylor Wilde.

Tag Team Unification Title Match: Beer Money Inc. vs Team 3D

This may have been the loudest match I ever saw. This was the first match I was on my feet for its entirety. Both teams fought in the my section so it was nice seeing that whole thing. Team 3D got the win, and as I said before, they won’t lose in Philly.

Lethal Lockdown: Team Jarrett (AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, and Jeff Jarrett) vs Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, Booker T, and Kevin Nash)

The word awesome doesn’t even begin to describe the match. This match had everything you could ever want. Almost everyone hit their finishing move or did something amazing. Two moments that I will remember about the match are AJ Styles jumping through the cage and taking out everyone, and Bobby Lashley making his TNA debut. The place erupted when Lashley walked out. Angle had a smile on his face, so maybe he will be in the MEM. Team Jarrett got the win as Double J hits Booker T with the guitar.

TNA World Title Match: Sting vs Mick Foley

Competitively speaking, this match wasn’t that great. It was a good match, but it needed to be a little faster. Foley showed no regard for himself or anyone else and Sting didn’t want to fight him originally. Foley gained the victory by escaping the cage.

All in all, TNA Lockdown was incredible. I never expected to see Styles go through the cage or Lashley. This is one of of the best pay per view events I have seen and I recommend everyone see it.

I got six out of nine correct, while my brother got four out of nine. Let me know what you all think of him and his predictions. I would like to get someone else in on predictions for ppvs.

TNA Lockdown Preview and Predictions

TNA Lockdown is tonight in just a few hours and I will be going to the event at Temple University with my brother, Anthony.  Below is the match line up and what we think will happen.

Dark Match: Danny Bonaduce vs. Eric Young

Pete: This is just a publicity stunt. Eric Young will try to make Bonaduce look presentable but EY comes out on top.

Ant: There is no way TNA lets Eric Young lose this match.

X-Division Title Xcape Match: Suicide © vs. Kiyoshi vs. Jay Lethal vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Consequences Creed

Pete: I think Suicide takes this one because Kiyoshi and Bashir take each other out.

Ant: I agree with Suicide winning however I think either member of Lethal Consequences can take the belt.

TNA Knockouts Queen of the Cage Match: ODB vs. Madison Rayne vs. Daffney vs. Sojo Bolt

Pete: I like Madison Rayne.

Ant: I think ODB will continue to impress.

IWGP Jr. Tag Team Title Match: The Motor City Machine Guns © vs. No Limit vs. LAX

Pete: The Guns have this one in the bag. I don’t see either team giving them much issue for a different reason.

Ant: I think LAX wins. They have the chance to now take control of almost every title in the company.

Doomsday Chamber of Blood Match: Abyss vs. Matt Morgan

Pete: I like Matt Morgan. Dr. Stevie will be involved.

Ant: I think Abyss finally gets the win he wants over Morgan.

TNA Knockouts Title Match: Awesome Kong © vs. Angelina Love vs. Taylor Wilde

Pete and Ant: KONG. There is no reason why anyone would win the belt.

Winner Takes All – TNA World Tag Team Titles vs. IWGP Tag Team Titles Philadelphia Street Fight: Beer Money © vs. Team 3D ©

Pete: Team 3D. They won’t lose in Philly.

Ant: Agreed.

Lethal Lockdown: Team Jarrett (Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Jeff Jarrett and Christopher Daniels) vs. Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, Booker T and Kevin Nash)

Pete: I like Team Jarrett. They smell blood and the reversal of the decision on Impact left them with a bad taste in their mouth.

Ant: Team Angle will take this one. Jarrett is the deciding factor.

TNA World Title Match: Sting © vs. Mick Foley

Pete: I think Sting wins this match.

Ant: Foley won’t win the title because he is management.

Pete: I think though Hernandez will cash in and take the TNA title.
