Taz comes out to the ring to start off Impact. Taz says that when he wrestled for ECW, he sustained neck and back injuries that keep him from wrestling. He says he felt like he could do more than what he was doing in the WWE. He says that when he saw Samoa Joe, it took him back and he saw the second coming of Taz.  He says that Joe would show remorse, but Taz wasn’t. He said when they talked, he said that he would take him to the top. He says now that he is with Joe, he is on everyone’s radar. He puts over the mafia and says that Samoa Joe will face Homicide for the X Division gold.

TNA X Division Title Match: Homicide (c) vs Samoa Joe

Both men trade arm drags and Homicide is able to hit the tope con hilo. Homicide rolls Joe into the ring and earns a two count. Joe hits and STJoe and hits the slap/chest kick/ knee drop. Joe hits a snap power slam for a two count. Joe locks in the abdominal stretch in the middle of the ring.  Homicide gets out of the hold and tries to take Joe down with clothes lines, to no avail. Homicide hits a spinning elbow for a one count. Homicide hits Joe with a tornado DDT, but Joe counters with a  belly to belly suplex. Joe hits the ref with a right hand and knocks him down. Homicide went for a Gringo Cutter, but Joe counters into the Cochina Clutch. The ref DQ’d Joe for the shot on Homicide and Joe locks in an armbar on Homicide as Hernandez comes out. He looks like he dropped at least 20 pounds and then gained in muscle.

Jeremy Borash is with Mick Foley and he says that he doesn’t know what the future of TNA is going to be like. Continue reading

My thoughts on Victory Road

Abyss vs Dr. Stevie

This was a typical squash match, but it was fun to watch. The crowd was into Abyss the entire time and that certainly made the match more fun to see. I found myself cringing at some of the shots dealt by the monster.

Matt Morgan vs Christopher Daniels

This match really could have been better, but every action made sense. Daniels has been working with a knee injury so who knows if the injury was actually re-aggravated or kayfabe.

Sharmell vs Jenna Morasca

The saddest excuse for a wrestling match ever. I am 100% positive that this was more of a publicity stunt, and a way to showcase how beautiful Morasca is. The crowd couldn’t have been less into this match if the fans weren’t there.

New Japan Tag Team Championship Match: Team 3D (c) vs The British Invasion

I didn’t care about this match as much as I thought I would. This wasn’t the best Team 3D match, but I feel like only Beer Money can make them look as good as they have. The British Invasion is slowly growing on me and I would imagine a program with LAX once Hernandez comes back is on the horizon.

TNA Knockout Championship Match: Tara (c) vs Angelina Love

At first, I thought the match was just ok, but had an awful ending. I think that with the promo of Madison Rayne messing around with Slick Johnson made the ending, if nothing else, workable.

TNA Tag Team Championship Match: Beer Money Inc. (c) vs Scott Steiner and Booker T

I LOVE the fact that Beer Money is a face and can really work both sides of the fence. These guys are the next big tag team in pro wrestling. Steiner and Booker T are two of the best tag team wrestlers in history and deserve the titles, even if only for a month. This was one of the better matches of the night. My only issue with it was the onslaught of heel moves used by Booker and Steiner. They were just too frequent.

TNA Legends Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs Kevin Nash

This was my favorite match of the night. I like how it was a strategic match, as well as one where AJ could fly. Styles made Nash look good, and Nash did the same. In probably the biggest shocker, Nash used more than six moves in match. The finish was awesome. The only way it could have gotten better was if Nash caught AJ in mid air by the throat and chokeslamed him from there.

Samoa Joe vs Sting

The match was good, but it was extremely predictable from beginning to the finish. The only other issue I had was that when Taz came to the ring, Joe like hulked up and nothing affected him.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match: Kurt Angle (c) vs Mick Foley

This match was surprisingly fun to watch. I didn’t quite now what to expect with the match, but I was happy with how it came about the finish.

Overall, this was a disappointment as far as the ppv is concerned. It had its good moments, but this show could have been a lot better than what was put out. Also, this wreaks of Russo writing.  Let’s have the main faction in the company hold all of the titles. Sound familiar? It is the same storyline he did with the NWO in WCW.

I think this one will end up better because I feel like TNA has more people who can win the titles and not lay down. Also, in WCW, they pushed the older guys so hard that most of the young talents were all in the tag team division and wouldn’t be able to challenge for the WCW title. TNA has a good mix and with AJ not having the Legends title and Bobby Lashley coming we have two people who potentially could win the TNA title.

Ladder Match

Homicide vs Doug Williams

Homicide hits a diving elbow and then a clothesline. Homicide continues to work over Williams as he grabs the ladder. Williams knocks Homicide off the ladder and throws Homicide into the same ladder. Doug Williams goes for the briefcase, but he gets knocked off into Magnus and Rob Terry. Homicide scampers up the ladder to get the brief case. Team 3D helped Homicide out, but then got beat down by The British Invasion, Sheik Abdul Bashir, and Kiyoshi.

Shawn Hernandez, one half of LAX, has been cleared by doctors to get back into the ring. This is very big news considering that he had neck surgery only a about a couple of months ago and was scheduled to be out at least another month. It appears that he really might be “Super Mex.”

TNA Sacrifice Preview

I have my brother with me again to give you the card and predictions for TNA Sacrifice tonight on pay per view. The event will be covered here live tonight.I will be in the green and he will be in the blue.

Free Pre-show: Amazing Red vs Kiyoshi

Pete: I think the Amazing Red has this match in the bag. With him signing a new contract, TNA will want to put him over.

Ant: Agreed

The Motor City Machine Guns and Sheik Abdul Bashir vs Lethal Consequences and Eric Young

I think that Shelley will pin Eric Young after the Made in Detroit. After the match, he blames Lethal Consequences for the loss and EY turns heel.

EY pins Bashir in a very fast paced match.

Team 3D Tag Team Invitational Final Match: Beer Money Inc. vs The British Invasion

The British Invasion defeat Beer Money. It would be a shame to see Beer Money lose, but I feel like LAX, Beer Money, and the rest of the tag teams will go after the British Invasion.

It would be messed up if the British Invasion jumped Team 3D and didn’t win the tournament

Kevin Nash vs Samoa Joe

Joe is gonna kill Nash at sacrifice

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Knockouts Monster’s Ball: Daffney vs Taylor Wilde

I think Daffney wins and kisses Abyss. Abyss will be involved in the match outcome.

Wilde has more experience so I’ll give her the nod.

TNA Knockout Championship Match: Angelina Love (c) vs Awesome Kong

I think Love will manage to steal this one with Kip, Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky opportunity.

Awesome Bomb plus Implant Buster equals destruction and automatic death for Love.

X Division Title Match: Suicide (c) vs Daniels

I think Suicide will continue his reign as X Division Champ. I think the Guns will run out to try and rip the mask off. Once its almost off, the lights are killed and Suicide escapes.

The Motor City Machine Guns come in and attack Suicide and screw Daniels.

‘I Quit’ Legends Title Match: AJ Styles (c) vs Booker T

I see Styles winning this one. I don’t know why but I think he will win.

Booker  T’s wife tries to interfere and Jenna Morasca will try to fight Sharmell and distract Booker for a Styles win.

Ultimate Sacrifice Match for the TNA Heavyweight Title: Mick Foley (c) vs Jeff Jarrett vs Sting vs Kurt Angle
If Mick Foley gets pinned, he loses the TNA Heavyweight Title
If Kurt Angle gets pinned, he gives up leadership of The Main Event Mafia
If Sting gets pinned, he has vowed to never wrestle again
If Jeff Jarrett gets pinned, he gives up his power in TNA

I think Kurt Angle will pin Sting. This would basically end the Main Event Mafia. With Nash and Booker going at it, the only two left would be Angle and Scott Steiner.

As much as I hate to say it I think Mick Foley will pin Sting by to retain his championship.  The only way I see Sting winning this match is if he pins Mick.  I feel Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett will be come non factors when it comes down to the pin or submission.

Jeff Jarrett walks out really upset from a meeting. He blows off Jeremy Borash. A little bit later Mick Foley walks out and says that he looks forward to working with Jeff Jarrett again.

The Main Event Mafia come out. Kurt Angle says he has been named The Godfather of the MEM. As long as he gets respect, he do anything needed to be done. Angle says if he goes into the fatal four way at Sacrifice for the TNA title, he will put his seat as The Godfather of the MEM. Angle said he will go to Foley’s office and take over.

JB is with Foley and he has no idea what is going on. Jarrett comes into the office and says to stay out of his way tonight. Foley wants Jarrett’s support against Angle and Jarrett storms out of the office.

Lauren is with Kurt Angle and she asks about Sacrifice. Angle says he will win the title. He tells Scott Steiner he wants Jarrett in the match at Sacrifice.

The Amazing Red and Suicide vs The Motor City Machine Guns

Red looks a little different than before, but I dig the new look. Red and Alex Shelley will start the match. Shelley hits a big shoulder block and Red counters with a deep spring board arm drag. Alex Shelley tags in Chris Sabin hits a big Huracanrana. Suicide tags in and takes Sabin down. Red tags in and Suicide press slams him onto Sabin for a two count. After Red hits a couple solid kicks, the Guns hit a huge hip toss. Shelley puts Red in the Tree of Woe and hits a sliding drop kick. Sabin hits the hesitation drop kick giving them a two count. Red takes out Shelley with a calf kick and Sabin with a reverse DDT. Suicide is tagged in and cleans house. Shelley hits sliced bread for a two count. Sabin hits Red with a drop kick to knock him off. Red hits a twisting press on Sabin to take him out. Suicide hits the Suicide Solution for the pin as they move on in the tag team tournament. This was an insane match and I couldn’t believe how good red looked. 4 out of 5 stars. Continue reading

A New Faction in TNA

Posted in TV show reviews, Wrestler Spotlight with tags , , , , , , , , , , on April 30, 2009 by biggman621

The British Invasion (Brutus Magnus and Doug Williams) w/ Rob Terry vs LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

Hernandez is out cold and Brutus Magnus has Hernandez’s case. This went from a  tag match to a handicap match. Homicide hits a Suicide dive to take out Magnus and Williams. Williams is in as Homicide hits a spinning neck breaker. Magnus is tagged in and he eats a spinning shoulder block. Homicide  goes to the top rope and hits a double missile drop kick.  Magnus takes down Homicide as the numbers game may be catching up to him. Williams tags in and hits a few European uppercuts and follows it up with a high knee and a suplex. After the near fall, Magnus and Williams use a neck tie and slams Homicide down. Magnus hits a power slam and  goes to the top rope. Magnus went for a splash and tags in Williams. Williams is hit by the Gringo Cutter as Homicide goes to the top rope. Magnus holds Homicide up as Williams hit a top rope spinning European Uppercut, which leads to a three count.

TNA Lockdown Results and Review

Posted in News, PPV Events/ Live Event Reviews with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 20, 2009 by biggman621

I was at TNA Lockdown in Philadelphia so I don’t have the play by play of what happened. The results as well as special moments and interesting news are below.

Dark Match: Eric Young vs Danny Bonaduce

This was a publicity stunt for both organizations. Bonaduce didn’t look terrible, but not that good either. Eric Young won via roll up.

Xscape Match: Suicide (c) vs “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal vs Consequences Creed vs Sheik Abdul Bashir vs Kiyoshi

This was a ton of fun to watch. The action was fast and furious. The match came down to Bashir and Sucide. As Suicide made it to the other side of the cage, Kiyoshi tried to grab him. TNA security pulled Kiyoshi away as Suicide climbed to the top of the cage. Suicide jumped off the cage onto security and Kiyoshi giving him the title and the win.

Queen of the Cage: ODB vs Madison Rayne vs Sojourner Bolt vs Daffney

Nothing truly interesting about this match. There were four wrestlers in the ring and Cody Deaner outside the ring was the most entertaining part of the match. ODB wins by pinning Sojo Bolt.

IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championships Match: The Motor City Machine Guns (c) vs. No Limit vs. LAX

This was an extremely entertaining match. All of the teams looked on top of their game for the show. This match moved at break neck speed and never stopped. The Guns would win the match by a Sliced Bread/ Powerbomb combination (Made in Detroit) on Naito of No Limit for the victory.

Chamber of Blood Match: Matt Morgan vs Abyss

Abyss and Matt Morgan heard everything from “We Want Blood” to “Boring” chants. All in all, it was a typical big man match. Dr. Stevie distracted Abyss long enough for Morgan to slam him on thumbtacks to get the win.

TNA Knockout Title Match: Awesome Kong (c) vs Taylor Wilde vs Angelina Love

This was probably one of the best Knockout matches I can remember. The one moment that will stick out in this match was Awesome Kong doing a front flip off of the top rope. It was absolutely incredible. Angelina Love picked up the victory after pinning Taylor Wilde.

Tag Team Unification Title Match: Beer Money Inc. vs Team 3D

This may have been the loudest match I ever saw. This was the first match I was on my feet for its entirety. Both teams fought in the my section so it was nice seeing that whole thing. Team 3D got the win, and as I said before, they won’t lose in Philly.

Lethal Lockdown: Team Jarrett (AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, and Jeff Jarrett) vs Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, Booker T, and Kevin Nash)

The word awesome doesn’t even begin to describe the match. This match had everything you could ever want. Almost everyone hit their finishing move or did something amazing. Two moments that I will remember about the match are AJ Styles jumping through the cage and taking out everyone, and Bobby Lashley making his TNA debut. The place erupted when Lashley walked out. Angle had a smile on his face, so maybe he will be in the MEM. Team Jarrett got the win as Double J hits Booker T with the guitar.

TNA World Title Match: Sting vs Mick Foley

Competitively speaking, this match wasn’t that great. It was a good match, but it needed to be a little faster. Foley showed no regard for himself or anyone else and Sting didn’t want to fight him originally. Foley gained the victory by escaping the cage.

All in all, TNA Lockdown was incredible. I never expected to see Styles go through the cage or Lashley. This is one of of the best pay per view events I have seen and I recommend everyone see it.

I got six out of nine correct, while my brother got four out of nine. Let me know what you all think of him and his predictions. I would like to get someone else in on predictions for ppvs.
