About half way through my review, I lost all of the things  for my review so I’ll put up the matches and the need to know things from tonight’s episode of Impact:

The Matches:

Kurt Angle and Mick Foley vs Matt Morgan and Abyss

Abyss was worked on through most of the match. This was an ok main event. It didn’t have a ton of spots until the end. The finish saw Abyss fake a shot at Foley with the barbed wire bat, sending Foley into the Carbon Footprint.

TNA X Division Title Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs Amazing Red

This wasn’t a bad match, but it did make Red look weak. Red is a great wrestler and did some phenomenal things during the match, but if Bobby Lashley hadn’t come out, Red couldn’t have pulled the upset. Red got the win with a standing shooting star press.

TNA Legends Title Match: Kevin Nash (c) vs Hernandez

This was ruled a no contest after Eric Young interfered. No shocker here. Before that, the match was ok at best.

TNA Knockout Title Match: ODB (c) vs Tara

This was a quick one since there was only 20 minutes left in the show and the main event still to come. The crowd was not really into this match as much as the others. As expected, Awesome Kong came out and she is bringing a sledge hammer. ODB pins Tara after hitting the TKO.

Daniels and Suicide vs D’Angelo Dinero and Homicide

With Daniels, Suicide, and Dinero, you would think this would be a great match. This one left a lot to be suspected. During the match, Homicide attacks Willie Urbina and Hector Guerrero. The finish came when Dinero hit the Express on Daniels, when he went for the BME.

Knockout Tag Elimination Match: Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky, Alissa Flash, and Traci Brooks vs Hamada, Sarita, Taylor Wilde and Christy Hemme

The match was a good knockout match, with some fairly good wrestling. This wasn’t anything to write home to mom about, but the main issue was trying to squeeze an elimination match in a less than 10 minute spanm it doesn’t work. Rayne gains the victory after Lacey Von Erich hit a chokeslam on Sarita with the ref’s back turned.

What you need to know:

Abyss will face Mick Foley in a Monster’s Ball match at Bound For Glory. Foley tweaked the match so Dr. Stevie could be the special guest referee and Abyss can’t use thumbtacks.

Team 3D, Booker T and Scott Steiner, Beer Money Inc., and The British Invasion sign a contract for a ladder match between the four teams. The IWGP Tag Titles and the TNA Tag Titles will be on the line.

Kevin Nash will take on Eric Young and Hernandez at BFG for the Legend’s title.

Amazing Red vs Christopher Daniels vs Suicide vs Chris Sabin vs Alex Shelley vs Jay Lethal vs Consequences Creed vs D’Angelo Dinero

Let me start off by saying this will be extremely hard to cover so I’ll do my best.

The bell rings and there is a sprint to the top. Sabin and Shelley hit a suplex on Daniels onto Suicide. Lethal and Red continue the fight as Creed hits a European uppercut. The MCMG hit a double chest kick. Dinero cuts off Creed, but he falls onto the top rope. Creed hits the punch combo, but goes for a basment drop kick. Dinero hits a releas german suplex. MCMG hit a double dropkick on Dinero’s head. Daniels hits a scoop slam from the top rope, but Shelley runs up and hits a top rope jaw breaker. Shelley puts Dinero in a tree of woe and hits a release suplex on Suicide into the hanging Dinero.  Lethal and Creed stop the Guns from getting out. Creed hits a big kick and Lethal throws Sabin’s head into the steel. Daniels slams Lethal’s head into the steel, and hits a hip toss to the mat. Dinero hits a top rope spear on Daniels and Suicide hits a drop kick on Dinero. Suicide hits a running slam on Red and Sabin throws him off the top rope. Shelley hits a reverse STO/DDT combo. Dinero and Daniels hit matching STOs and Suicide hits the Tower of Doom on Dinero, Sabin and Daniels. Red and Suicide trade blows and Suicide hits a face buster. Dinero hits a texas tower bomb. A crazy slew of moves to fast for me to type.  Red goes to the top and Shelley cuts him off. Everyone is on the top rope and Daniels hits a reverse STO. Creed hits a sliced bread on Suicide. Sabin and Shelley hit the powerbomb/sliced bread combo. Red hits a tornado reverse STO and climbs again. Daniels catches up and he fights Red and throws him off. Daniels is still hanging. Suicide is climbing to the tops and Dinero kicks him off. Dinero picks up Suicide and throws him into the steel. Daniels climbs out of the asylum to win the match.

TNA Legends Title Match: Kevin Nash vs Amazing Red

Nash bends over and asks Red to hit him. Red lands a series of right hands, but Nash throws him off. Nash throws the rapid fire knees in the corner and then flexes in the middle of the ring. Nash throws Red across the ring, but Red lands a few kicks. Nash hits a huge Jack knife Powerbomb and pins Red for the win.

The Deaner vs Red

Cody Deaner w/ ODB vs The Amazing Red

Red starts off landing a few kicks and then puts in an arm lock.  Deaner reverses the arm lock, only to be hit with a few arm drags and a huracanrana. Red hits a corkscrew plancha onto Deaner and then throws him into the ring. Red uses a role up for a two count and  then lands a few more kicks. Deaner knocks Red down and earns a two count. Deaner puts Red in the corner and starts throwing right hands. Deaner hits a scoop slam and a fist drop for a two count. Deaner slams Red’s head into the top turnbuckle, only for Red to counter a whip and hit a kick for two. Red gets caught on the top rope and Dean climbs to the top rope. Deaner goes for a diving head butt, and Red hits the Red Eye for the three count.

Mick Foley comes out to the ring with Earl Hebner and some clowns. He says he found his smile and the ring is decorated for a party. He calls out AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, and the guest of honor, Jeff Jarrett. Everyone comes out with the same confused look on their faces. Jarrett asks Foley if he has lost his mind and says that he has one more trick up his sleeve. He says that he has booked tonight’s main event and says that AJ Styles will team up with Samoa Joe, Sting will team up with Kurt Angle, and Jarrett will tag with Foley. Foley says that he knows it might get nasty, but he wants everyone to put their hands in and yell “team.” Joe goes to put his hand in and clocks  Angle.

Jeremy Borash is with Raven, Daffney, and Dr. Stevie. Daffney says that her match is one made in hell. She says it is nice and warm there. Raven asks if Jethro Holiday knows what a House of Fun match is. He compares himself to Abyss and says they are both freaks. He tells Abyss that Slammiversary will have his and Abyss’s funeral.

Daniels vs The Amazing Red

The two shake hands and lock up. Daniels applies an arm lock and Red gets out with an arm drag. A drop kick sends Daniels out of the ring and Red hits a corkscrew Plancha. Red lands a couple clotheslines, but Daniels counters with a huge clothesline. Daniels puts in a chin lock and is sent into the corner. Red hits a few kicks and Daniels stays on his feet. Red climbs to the top rope and hits a huracanrana. Red hits a jumping reverse STO for a two count. Daniels catches Red and hits a death valley driver and hits the Best Moonsault Ever (BME) for the three count. After the match, Shane Douglas says that he is level headed and says he deserves a second chance and accepts Daniels’ challenge. Continue reading
