TNA’s 200th Episode of Impact 7/30/09

The Main Event Mafia start off the show this week and they make their way to the ring. Kurt Angle says that Bobby Lashley tried to make a name for himself at Angle’s expense. He says that when his reputation is tarnished and he will pay. He said that the MEM and Lashley had an agreement, but he kicked dirt on it. He calls out Lashley and Lashley comes out with a baseball bat, oddly much like Sting’s baseball bat.

Lashley says that they did have an agreement and then runs through the roster of the MEM. Lashley says that he is still hungry and he wants titles, but the mafia wants to cheat and steal them from others. Lashley says he can’t be bought. Angle says he can’t be bought because he is young and stupid like the rest of the locker room. Lashley says he has an offer that he can’t refuse.

Mick Foley then comes out to the ring with mic in hand. He thanks Lashley for saving him last week and asks Angle to look in the camera and see the board members. He says that they are waiting for the ratings that the MEM promised. Foley offers a match where Foley and Lashley will go up against Angle and Kevin Nash. He says that both Nash and Angle’s titles will be on the line. The winner will get that title. Angle says that the title match is on and he is upset. So tonight, Foley and Lashley will be taking on Nash and Angle in tag team action. If Nash or Angle loses, they will give up their title.

Hernandez vs Samoa Joe w/ Taz

Both men lock up and Joe lands a flurry of kicks to the legs. Hernandez answers with a few shoulder blocks. Joe hits a couple slaps and goes for a suplex. Hernandez counters into one of his own and earns a two count. Hernandez goes for a splash, but Joe hits the STJoe. Joe hits the kick/slap/senton for a two count. Hernandez lands a couple shots, but is hit with a belly to belly suplex. Joe hits a couple shots, but is then hit by a slingshot shoulder block. A big splash and slam earns a two count for Hernandez. Joe hits a backdrop and an ensiguri on the top turnbuckle. Joe goes for a superplex and Joe is thrown off. Hernandez goes off the top rope and hits a huge splash from the top rope for the win.

Jeremy Borash is with Hernandez and he says he will be the first Latino World Heavyweight Champion in TNA.

Lauren is with Matt Morgan and he says that he has earned all of his opportunities. He says he will cement his spot in the mafia.

JB is with AJ Styles and he brings up the past two weeks and the results. Styles says that he never saw the turn from Eric Young. Styles then says he only saw the good in people, and when he gets his hands on EY, he will make him wish he’d never been born.

JB is with Foley and Lashley and he asks Lashley what happened between last week and Lockdown. Lashley says that backstage last week he saw Foley fighting for the company and it worked out that way. Foley says that he wasn’t happy with himself at Victory Road, but it is in everyone’s best interest for one of them to take a title from the MEM.

Best of Three: AJ Styles vs Matt Morgan

Morgan goes to lock up, but Styles ducks under a few times. Styles locks in a headlock and covers Morgan for two after a dropkick. Styles locks in a sleeper, but Morgan backs him into a corner. Styles lands a couple shots, but Styles is sent over the top rope to the floor via catapult. Morgan throws Styles back into the ring and hits the rapid fire elbows in the corner. Morgan hits a splash and a side walk drop for a one count. Styles lands a couple shots, but Morgan picks up Styles and throws Morgan into the corner turnbuckle. Morgan goes for the top rope choke, but Styles moves out of the way. Styles lands a few shots, leading to a couple drop kicks. Styles hits a clothesline and a flying forearm for a two count. Morgan lifts a knee into the mid section of Styles, but Styles hits the Pele. Styles hits a springboard 450 Splash to get the win. Styles 1, Morgan 0.

Lauren is with Traci Brooks and asks what happened last week. Brooks says that she comes to the audience in H-Double D. She says screw everyone and that the best TNA can do isn’t good enough. Taylor Wilde comes out and says she was the one who she looked up to, but Brooks doesn’t care.

Angelina Love, Madison Rayne, and Velvet Sky vs Tara, Awesome Kong, and ODB

Love and Tara will start us off. Tara has right hands for each member of the Beautiful People. Tara and Love are in the ring as Kong and ODB work on Sky and Rayne on the outside. Tara eats a right hand, but sends Rayne down to the ring with a drop toe hold. ODB tags in and she hits a splash on Rayne. ODB hits the fall away slam and kicks up as we go to a commercial break.

After the break, Tara tags in Kong and she hits a Rayne. Kong and Tara trade shots. The Motor City Machine Guns are shown in the audience holding up signs. ODB is alone and now Velvet Sky lands a couple elbow drops and tags in Love. Love hits a drop kick for two. Love chokes ODB on the second rope and Sky chokes her with the ref’s back turned. Love earns a two count and she starts to taunt Cody Deaner. Deaner turns the hat around and kisses Love, this allows ODB to roll up Love for the win.

Brutus Magnus comes out to the ring and introduces the leader of World Elite, Eric Young. He says that he is the center of attention and he says that he used to be the laughing stock of the company. He says he used to hear stories about the USA, but he says the truth is that this was the place to be. EY says that he made it on his own and he is living his dream. EY says that for every piece of good press, the US deserves twice as much bad press. EY goes on to say that everyone else in the world hate Americans. The fault lies with the people that live here and not the country itself. The crowd is chanting “Go Home Eric”. EY says that he is one of the best in the world, and now the World Elite will start taking from the US and TNA. EY grabs the barber shears and starts to shave his hair.

Team 3D comes to the ring with mic in hand. Brother Ray says that this is America, love it or leave it. He says that they aren’t the World Elite, but a group of punks.

IWJP Tag Team Title Tables Match: Team 3D (c) vs The British Invasion w/ Eric Young, Sheik Abdul Bashir, and Kiyoshi

After the 7 minute promo, Team 3D is in the ring and The Brits are on the outside as we head to a commercial break.

Coming out of the break, Doug Williams is working over Brother Ray. Devon throws Brutus Magnus into the wall as both teams fight into the crows. Devon lays out Magnus on the top row and is sent into the wall by Devon. Ray and Williams are in the ring and Ray lands the right hand combination and hits a scoop slam on Magnus. Team 3D hits the Wassap headbutt, and sends Devon to get the tables. Rob Terry goes for a clothesline on Devon, but he misses. Magnus and Williams land clotheslines on Team 3D. The Brits hit a double suplex on Ray, but misses the table. Devon accidentally hits the splash on the referee, but he eats a clothesline by Terry. Devon hits a powerbomb and sends Magnus through the table, but EY is able to hit Devon with the title and place him on the table. The ref saw Devon on the table and gave The British Invasion the win.

Dr. Stevie is with Lauren and he has a mild freak out, and he puts a $50,000 pay day on Abyss’ head.

Booker T and Scott Steiner are beating down Lashley and Foley in Foley’s office. TNA security runs into the office to break it up, and one of the men says “Lashley’s out cold.” Beer Money catches up with Booker T and Steiner fighting them into the MEM locker room.

Bobby Lashley and Mick Foley vs Kevin Nash and Kurt Angle

Lashley’s music hits, but he doesn’t come out. Foley’s music hits, but he doesn’t come out either. Angle and Nash are smiling in the ring and are interupted by Foley’s music. Foley makes his way to the ring, and Angle meets him on the ramp. Angle and Nash both eat shots from Foley and he gets into the ring. Foley and Angle are in the ring as the match officially starts. Foley throws Angle head first into the top turnbuckle about five times and then hits a running knee. Nash comes in and drops Foley with a clothesline, which allows Angle to land a few shots. Foley lands a few shots, but Nash catches him from behind. Angle slams Foley’s head into the steel steps and Foley is in la la land. Angle tags into Nash, and Nash raises his knee into the mid section a few times and follows that up with a huge right hand. Nash sets Foley up in the corner and lands an elbow and punch combo. Angle is tagged in and Angle goes to German suplex Foley, but Foley catches him with a double underhook DDT. Foley locks in the mandible claw on Angle, but Nash breaks that up with a big boot. Angle locks in the Ankle lock on Foley as the lights go out. Sting’s music hits and he is in the crowd pointing at Angle. Foley escaped the ring and the lights go back out. Lashley is behind Angle and has punches for Angle and Nash. Bobby Lashley hits a spear on Nash and Foley is able to cover Kevin Nash for the win and the TNA Legends Title.
